Erigo are excited to present three fully certified ‘Passivhaus’ standard 4-bedroom village homes. For those unfamiliar with the standard, a Passivhaus provides a high level of occupant comfort while using very little energy for heating and cooling. They are built with meticulous attention to detail, and are designed and constructed according to the principles developed by the Passivhaus Institut in Germany, and are certified through an exacting quality assurance process.
Inside Passivhaus buildings you don’t get drafts or cold floors. It also doesn’t get stuffy as fresh air is constantly delivered by the ventilation system, which simultaneously recovers heat from the home. The fresh supply of air also helps improve health; reducing the chance of getting a cold or other airborne disease, improving your circulation, and being good for those with respiratory problems, such as asthmatics.
Passivhaus buildings achieve a 75% reduction in space heating requirements, compared to standard practice for a UK new build. The heat losses of the homes are reduced so much that it hardly needs any heating at all. Passive heat sources like the sun, human occupants, household appliances and the heat from the extract air cover a large part of the heating demand.
In addition to the benefits of meeting the Passivhaus standard the properties sit in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and benefit from views over the iconic Alton Barnes White Horse. These 3 properties comprise of well-proportioned rooms and, with early engagement, are fully customisable to meet your heart’s desire.
Once inside the property, you are presented with a timber open staircase and cloakroom area. This leads on to the open plan kitchen, dining and living space allowing plenty of room for family life. The kitchen features a solid oak topped breakfast bar, and surrounding cupboards to cater for a modern sociable cooking experience, ideal for entertaining. The dining area feels extra spacious and is well lit with natural light from the large triple glazed doors opening out onto the patio area. There is also the benefit of a separate study, ideal for those wanting to work from home.
On the 1st floor there are 4 good sized double bedrooms, with the master bedroom benefiting from an en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. There is a good-sized family bathroom featuring a bath and separate shower. You can also take in the views of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside from any one of the bedrooms.
